Hello Warriors,

Thanks for signing up for the 6-Week SOULCON Challenge. Here’s what you need to get started and get you connected with the team here in Chattanooga, TN. First of all, you won’t just be connecting with local men and young men in our area; you’ll also be joining a community of 600+ men from all across the country. And we’ve all decided it’s time to put down our forks and pick up our cross.  (Luke 9:23) Hoo Rahh!!!

Step #1:  Save/bookmark or print this page for future reference.

Step #2:  Purchase Cody’s Bobay’s SOULCON Challenge Book. The quickest and cheapest way is to get the electronic version of it on your phone or desktop. But you can also purchase the hardcopy. Both links are below:

Step #3 (optional): Purchase your SOULCON T-shirt and dog tags. I highly recommend this, because it gives you and opportunity to share your faith with others and to share the challenge with future recruits for future challenges. Remember, the goal is to connect and build relationships. But this step is not required. But if you’re interested, just click on the link below:

Step #4: Read the first 77 pages of the SOULCON Challenge book. Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds (it’s an easy read).  The SOULCON Challenge book will give you more details about the challenge. The book is broken down into 42 days (6 weeks) and you read one day at a time (like a devotional).

Step #5:  Mark your calendars. SOULCON has a weekly national Team video call, but with so many participating in Chattanooga, we’ve set up our own weekly, SOULCON-Team Chattanooga video call. I’ve included the links to both. On these weekly calls, you will get to meet the other men in the SOULCON community who are doing the challenge at the same time. The call is every Wednesday at 8 p.m. (EST). Here’s the link to the call (just click on it and follow the instructions):

Below is an overview of the SOULCON objectives and an outline of the upcoming 6-Week Schedule. If you have any questions, either email us (realmenconnect@gmail.com) or ask during our weekly Wednesday call.

SOULCON CHALLENGE OBJECTIVES:

  • Pray the Lord’s Prayer out loud, on your knees – EVERY DAY
  • No carbs after 3 p.m. from grains and breads (sweet potatoes, vegetables, and berries are the only carbs you can have)
    o Track your caloric intake in the book or on an app, just record everything except for your three feast days.
  • Drink at least 64 oz of water EVERY DAY
  • Exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week
    o Run, walk or crawl, two 5ks (3.1 miles) a week
  • Before you leave home for the day, do 40 push-ups (or as many as you can)
  • Sleep 6-8 hours a night (excluding feast days)
  • Evangelism: Hand out a total of 10 Gospel tracts to people you don’t know

Week 1:

  • 1/9 (Mon) Kick Off: Start Test In
    Max Push-ups in 2 minutes
    – 2 minute rest
    Max Sit-ups in 2 minutes
    – 2 minute rest
    Run, walk, or crawl a 5k
    – Make sure you record your 5k time, push-up and sit-up count to challenge yourself on Week 6
  • 1/10 (Tue) National Team Call @ 8:30 p.m. (CST)
  • 1/11 (Wed) First Team-Chattanooga Call @ 8 p.m.
  • 1/14 (Sat) Last Day to complete SOULCON Test-In and record your results

Week 2:

  • 1/16 (Mon) Max Push-Up Day (do as many push-ups as you can before the end of the day)
  • 1/17 (Tue) National Team Call @ 8:30 p.m. (CST)
  • 1/18 (Wed) Max Sit-Up Day (do as many sit-ups as you can before the end of the day)
    (Wed) Local Team-Chattanooga Call @ 8 p.m.
  • 1/20 (Fri) Max Body-Weight Squat Day (do as many squats as you can before the end of the day)

Week 3:

Week 4: Hell Week

This week you are limited to fruit, veggies (including sweet potatoes, not white potatoes), lean proteins, unsalted nuts, and protein powders (no milk added, only water).

  • 1/31 (Tue) National Team Call @ 8:30 (CST)
  • 2/1 (Wed) Local Team-Chattanooga Call @ 8 p.m.
  • 2/4 (Sat) Final Day of Hell Week
  • 2/5 (Sun) Feast Day (Eat what you want – but don’t over do it)

Week 5:

  • 2/6 (Mon) Max Push-Up Day (do as many push-ups as you can before the end of the day)
  • 2/7 (Tue) National Team Call @ 8:30 p.m. (CST)
  • 2/8 (Wed) Max Sit-Up Day (do as many sit-ups as you can before the end of the day)
    (Wed) Local Team-Chattanooga Call @ 8 p.m.
  • 2/10 (Fri) Max Body-Weight Squat Day (do as many squats as you can before the end of the day)
  • 2/12 (Sun) Feast Day (Eat what you want – but don’t over do it)

Week 6:

  • 2/13 (Mon) Start Test Out
    Max Push-ups in 2 minutes
    – 2 minute rest
    Max Sit-ups in 2 minutes
    – 2 minute rest
    Run, walk, or crawl a 5k
    – Make sure you record your 5k time, push-up and sit-up count and compare it you what you did in Week 1
  • 2/14 (Tue) Last National Team Call @ 8:30 p.m. (CST)
  • 2/15 (Wed) Last Team-Chattanooga Call @ 8 p.m.
  • 2/18 (Sat) Last Day to complete SOULCON Test-Out and record your results

  1. I assume the dates for the weeks will be updated shortly to reflect what we will be doing? Please? Thanks!

    • You’re free to create and follow your own schedule (if you’d like), but we’re following and posting the SOULCON national schedule. We will only change it when the next national challenge is launched. Don’t let WHEN you start be a deterrent. Just get started. Hooo Rahh!
